An ‘at home’ experience to bring alive the spirit of Halloween for the expat children in Chennai

Phoenix MarketCity Chennai hosted a truly unique party to bring in the festive and fun spirit of Halloween, into the city.

Recognizing the need to ensure that the children have a good time on one of the most enjoyable festivals, the mall arranged a host of exciting activities for kids between the age3 & 12 years. A specially created area in the mall was adorned with carefully thought out décor that perfectly brought out the spooky spirit of the festival.

The afternoon commenced on a merry note when the kids were briefed about the array of fun filled activities specially organized for them. From engagements such as Tattoo Painting, Face Painting, Hitting the Witches, Trunk Race and much more, the kids had completely immersed themselves into the activities. Kids were provided with thrilling props like tails, witch hats, bow ties to bring out an eerie feel! They also got a chance to make their own lanterns, eye masks, Halloween special pencils and much more! Visibly excited, the group began to cheer and hoot at the thought of the exciting evening to be!

The party gave the ideal opportunity for all the kids to come together to show off their creative, distinctive and well thought out avatars for the evening. The exhaustive line up of events certainly kept the kids thoroughly engaged; not giving them a chance to recount memories of Halloween celebrations, in the past.

Dressed in bright and baroque costumes, the children were taken around for ‘Trick or Treat’ to 7 toy stores like Peek-a-Boo, Allen Solly Junior, Gini and Jony, Lego Store, Mera Toy Shop, Starmark and Lifestyle. Other customers watched with wide grins as the colorful soiree of costume clad children merrily yelled ‘Trick or treat!’ waving exuberantly at the onlookers and their parents!

The parents were very glad at their decision to bring their little ones for the Halloween party, after seeing the extravagant, kid friendly events scheduled for the evening. Not to forget, there was a Halloween theme based photo booth to capture the kooky Halloween moments forever, which caught the eye of all the kids! Among the many parents, the children of the Cultural Affairs Ministry of the U.S Consulate were also present, enjoying the festivities.

Mr. Noel Vessaoker, Center Director, Phoenix MarketCity, Chennai says “We have put together a set of exciting fun filled activities ensuring a unique, ‘at home’ experience specially crafted for the expat kids on the occasion of Halloween, besides our premium shoppers.
