Kate Atkinson wins the Costa Novel Award

Kate Atkinson has won the Costa Novel Award for the second time in three years, with her ninth novel, A God in Ruins, the companion novel to Life After Life, which won the prize in 2013.Described by the judges as “utterly magnificent and in a class of its own”, A God in Ruins follows Teddy, the younger brother of Ursula Todd, whose story was told in several different possible versions in Life After Life.
