Indian women continue their haul

India finished third in the 21st Commonwealth Games with 26 gold medals, 20 silver and 20 bronze. Saina Nehwal clinched the singles gold in badminton after defeating fellow Indian P.V.Sindhu. Women performed exceptionally well and earned most of the golds for India.

Even Queen Elizabeth II the head of the Commonwealth would have been proud of Indian women’s contribution to the medal haul at this years Commonwealth Games. Boxer Mary Kom carried India’s flag at the closing ceremony. She being a mother of 3 children won a gold medal at the age of 35.Dipika Pallikal and Joshna Chinappa won 2 silver medals in the Squash campaign. Our Table tennis team alone secured 8 medals.
