Increase in ratio of employed women

There has been a marked increase of women becoming regular salaried personnel as per the latest data released by the National Statistical Office. This is a wing of the Union Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. As per the data, the number of women salaried employees has increased up to 58.2% in the quarter ending March 2019.
The role of women in economic activity has increased steadily and this in turn has led to a decline in the unemployment rate. The representation of women in the 100 Best Companies for Women in India had increased from 31% in 2018 to 33% in 2019. This figure is projected to reach 50-50 gender balance by the year 2027. Further women who are in leading business roles is currently at 16% and the figure is all set to reach 25% by 2025.
