The Session 6 of Hyderabad Feminist Reading Group will see the reading of a paper titled “Insidious Dangers of Benevolent Sexism: Consequences for Women’s Performance” by Benoit Dardenne. In it, she discusses four experiments which suggest that benevolent, or a sort of patronizing sexism is worse than hostile sexism for women’s cognitive performance.

Despite being garbed in apparently positive and harmless tone, benevolent sexism seems to be more harmful than the hostile kind.

Date & venue: February 3, La Makaan, Banjara Hills, off GVK, Hyderabad
