The International Foundation for crime prevention and victim care (PCVC) launched a hotline facility in a bid to support survivors of domestic and burn violence. It was inaugurated by Elke Budenbender, wife of the German President Frank Walter Steinmeier.

The founder Prasanna Gettu said that women would get counseling and information. As of now the helpline gets about 300 crisis calls every year. The national hotline facility will be manned by trained personnel. A database would be created in all districts of a state and will have everything that survivors require right from rehabilitation to job opportunities. Out of the burn violence incidents, 90% are reported ad accidents and 75% of the victims die. However most burn victims did not go for rehabilitation either because services were not available or their families were not keen.
