The death of techie Subhasri after a banner fell on her which made her lose her balance while riding a two wheeler and her being run over by a water lorry made several people to express anguish over her death.
The Madras High Court came down heavily on both the police department and the Corporation of Chennai. The judges while hearing a contempt petition relating to the illegal erection of digital banners filed by social activist Traffic Ramasamy, slammed the government for not preventing erection of illegal banners in the state. The judges were so disturbed about the happenings that they asked ” how many litres of blood do you want to paint the road with.”?  The AIADMK , the DMK and other parties including the Amma Makkal Munetra Kazhagam have requested their cadres not to erect  hoardings and inconvenience the public.
