After a protest by Christian missionaries regarding the sweeping statements made by Justice Vaidyanthan in his judgement in a sexual harassment case relating to a Christian institution, the Judge readily agreed to remove the contentious paragraph from his judgement.

The counsel appearing for Madras Christian College made a special mention saying that the observations were detrimental to the interests of Christian institutions that were rendering yeoman service to society. Moreover just a stray incident should not become a reason to form a general opinion. The judge concurred with the submissions made by the advocate and declared that the paragraph is deleted. He then directed the High Court Registry to issue a fresh copy of the order after deleting the said paragraph.
