Get bowled by some great gourmet fare at the newly opened Gilly’s Redefined

MyuBar at Gilly’s Redefined opened doors to its three storeyed swanky space in Koramangala this month. This food belt of Bengaluru has been witnessing a boom of cafes, bars and restaurants and we decided to check out the newest eatery on a weekend. The vibrant interiors are welcoming and there’s a stage dedicated for live music performances, rib-tickling comedy acts, energetic karaoke sessions, pet friendly brunches, and delicious food experiences. We instantly fell in love with the friendly vibe of the place.

There are three floors of unique experiences – MyuBar is in the ground level and the other two levels that will be launched soon are called Fandom and Terrace bar and dining area. Enter into an al fresco dining area which is always bustling with youngsters and step inside. The interiors are a feast to the senses with a burst of colour and graffiti on the walls. We liked the Central Perk corner from the sitcom Friends and also the Asterix wall. There’s an interesting play of lights and hues all across. The menu is exhaustive and elaborate with sections like Soup Pot, Garden Salads, Crunchy Feast, On the top fillings, Mysterious Wonton Pockets, The Veggie Shack, Seafood Specials, Just Meet, Myu Bar recommendations, Sandwiches, The Burger Man, Kati Rolls, Currylicious Curries, Indian Combos & Biryanis, Italiano Frisbee Pizzas & Pastas, Western Mains and Delicious Desserts. The food is hybrid – Indian and Italian with a smattering of Continental and French dishes. There are lots of exciting offers on drinks currently. We started with a fresh mint and cucumber drink with Ghee Roast Prawns on the side. This appetiser wins our vote hands down and was the highlight of our meal here. The masala on this desi version of tiger prawns from Oriya villages is bang on and oozes of everlasting, lingering flavours. We also tried the Guntur Chicken tikka which is for those with a bold taste. The fiery Guntur chilli chicken with a tandoori twist was spicy yet delicious and pairs well with the draught beer that is served here.

For my mains I ordered the Herb Grilled Fish with olive butter beurre blanch. Pescetarians will love to scoop from their plate of this freshly prepared fish that is subtle in flavours with the olive butter doing the right kind of magic that it needs to do on the fish. It’s a healthy and wholesome dish with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies on the side. My dining partner tried the French Classique Grilled Chicken Chasseur. The chasseur simmered chicken was served with some shallot and mushroom white sauce on top and zucchini, bell peppers and carrots on the side. We ended our meal with the Caramel Custard which was a melt-in-the-mouth heavenly delight. Simple and comforting, this dessert won our hearts over the other chocolate ones on the menu.

The diversity in taste and fresh ingredients will make this place a huge hit with the gourmands. The waiting staff is friendly and the ambience is perky. We will definitely go back here for some of their live acts and great grub.
