Daughter of Subhadra Srinivas Raju, Akanksha Raju is the new entrepreneur on the block. After completing her studies from the Strathclyde Business School in UK, she’s back in Bengaluru to nourish her dream with Slim Sins, a health food café in Jayanagar 4th Block. At the soft launch of Slim Sins everyone seemed to love the vibe of a quaint cafe-taurant and food offerings of a restaurant. Akanksha, the young enterprising girl who started this healthy restaurant comes from a finance background. Her own journey of weight loss, and the lack of healthy but tasty options in Jayanagar was where the idea of this concept restaurant was born. A 35 seater, the menu is extensive and covers juices to smoothies, salads to starters and burgers and sandwiches to mains and pastas. You could also just go for a masala chai or dessert! Yes, the desserts are healthy too. She has a separate menu for the keto dieters and is working on a vegan one. So you can enjoy juicy lamb burger in a ragi bun sans cheese, or have wheat pasta in fresh pesto sauce. No creamy cheesy sauces here. At a recent food tasting curated by Sheetal C, where actor Karthik Jayaram was also present, guests and the actor loved the Open Season Smoothie made from mango, frozen skimmed milk and roasted flax seeds, shiitake mushroom soup, chicken zucchini boat, paneer burger in a ragi bun, pesto hummus and grilled chicken in Chettinad sauce.
