As per data taken from the Monster Salary Index, women in India earn 20% less than their male counterparts. While men earned a median gross hourly salary of Rs 231/, women earned just Rs 184.This gap has reduced by about 5% from 24.8% in 2016.Data also goes on to prove that the gender pay gap increases with work experience.

Before expecting a change in the pay parity policy, attitudes of men and women should change. A survey done by Monster Women of India Inc.was aimed at understanding the working women and their workplace under the parameters of diversity, career growth and safety. The good news is that 44% of the men confirm that they can be effective advocates for change for gender initiative programmes.
