Chantelle Abbey in rural France has been manufacturing cosmetics since 1954 and two sisters a chemist and a mathematician began their practice. Their main delivery destination was Germany. Body lotions, shower gels and moisturizers were some of their products.

Mother Pascale said that they needed to develop to increase their turnover and get more clients. When the nuns are not praying, they are all involved in the manufacture of the products from conception to packaging. Sister Marie Suzanne is 97 and she too is involved in the work. Their aim was not to grow rich but to make a living. Their range of cosmetics are made from natural products. To meet the demand, they have hired ten non religious employees to help out with the production.
