The French Loaf creates India’s longest Photo Cake celebrating Daan Utsav

National Award Winning Tamil Movies were creatively honoured

For the fifth consecutive year, The French Loaf, India’s largest bakery chain has once again made a mark, by creating the Longest Photo Cake in the country at The Forum Vijaya Mall as part of Daan Utsav. This innovative event aims in supporting various Chennai based NGOs. Chief Guest, Mr.M.Mahadevan, Chairman of Oriental Cuisines Pvt.Ltd. attended this gala event and supported the noble cause.

Mr. Narendra Malhotra, CEO Oriental Cuisines Pvt.Ltd. said, “We are thoroughly delighted to be associated with this grand celebration by paying a deserving tribute to the National Award Winning Tamil Movies. With The French Loaf’s renowned speciality in baking photo cakes, we are pleased to create our masterpiece today by commemorating the award recipient movies. These exceptional pictures inked on the longest cake weighing 1000 kgs, is yet another milestone achievement. However, what truly makes us delighted is that, the proceeds of this initiative will support various NGO’s across the city.”

Chef Boopesh, Head Chef at The French Loaf and Le Chocolatier said, “To bake this enormous cake, a total of 550 kgs of chocolate mix, 150 kgs of fresh cream, 300 kgs of dark chocolate, 100 kgs of white chocolate, 60 kgs of fruit gel and 1000 sugar sheets used. We are extremely happy with the response from the people of Chennai and their spirit of donating.”

The one of its kind eggless photo cake weighed 1000 kilograms, spread across 100 metres, featuring 1000 photographs of National Award Winning Tamil movies spanning over decades. A team of 15 chefs from The French Loaf engaged in the baking and assembling process to create the gigantic cake

The proceeds of the sales from the photo cake went to Udhavum Ullangal Public Charitable Trust, Agni Foundation, Chennai Social Service, Arnodayam, Ekam Foundation, Dean Foundation, Child Home, Bhumi, Chhase, GMNR & Mother Teresa Trust and Anandanam Trust. These social NGO’s deals in providing support and raise their voices for the various social issues in the society
