Flight makes emergency landing after woman passenger goes into labour

A Manila boundĀ  flight of Cube Pacific Airlines carrying 325 passengers made an emergency landing at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Hyderabad after a woman passenger went into labour. The flight was on the Dubai Manila route.
A Filipino passenger reported contractions mid-airĀ  and hence the flight landed at Hyderabad. A medical team and an ambulance were put on standby after the flight captain informed the Air Traffic Controllers about the medical emergency. Accordingly, the team attended to the lady named Mananieta Baby Jean immediately after the flight landed and she delivered a baby boy in the ambulance. Both the mother and baby were shifted to a corporate hospital in Jubilee Hills. The flight departed after making an emergency parking payment of RS 6 lakhs to the airport authorities.
