A group of people including some women staged a flash protest at the Marina beach urging the Centre to set up the Cauvery Management Board in accordance with the order of the Supreme Court.

The protestors shouted slogans and waved placards. The police however quickly swung into action, bundled up the protestors into vans and took them to the nearest police station. They were however let off after some time. Due to the prevailing tension, City Police Commissioner A.K.Viswanathan visited the spot and reviewed the situation. As protests are banned at the Marina beach, the police department was constrained to take precautionary measures. The arrested protestors were warned and let off on station bail.
