First to take 200 ODI wickets

India’s veteran woman cricketer Jhulan Goswami became the first female cricketer to take 200 One Day International wickets. She achieved this feat during the second ODI between India and South Africa. Goswami hails from a small town called Chakdaha in Nadia district in West Bengal.

She made her debut in 2002 and was adjudged the ICC Women Cricketer of the year in 2007.In May 2017, she became the highest wicket taker in women’s ODI’S surpassing the decade long record held by Australian Cathryn Fitzpatrick. Kapil Dev holds the record for the first male cricketer to pick 200 ODI wickets.
