The great Indian festival season is here and while you deck up your stunning homes, it’s also time to stock up on the latest in festive wear. With so much happiness, love and light around, why not join in the celebrations with equal glitter and gleam, as you outshine others everywhere you go. Pick from your choice of saris with stylish cholis, shararas, lehengas, long skirts, dhotis, suits or fusion festive wear. Here’s a cue from some of the top Bengaluru-based designers to keep you ahead of the game this festival season.

Festive dressing has become more fashionable and trendy. Indian ethnic wear with fusion and contemporary element is trending this festive season. Lehenga from simple and straight cuts have become more modern with ruffles and layering; lehengas are being teamed with croptops and are worn as an Indowestern outfit; normal stoles are being replaced by ruffle stoles, ruffle sarees, long floor length layered gowns, floor length kurtas teamed with pants, dhoti teamed with croptops or short kurtas, shararas with kurta, prestitched ruffle ethnic jumpsuit, saree draped on a skirt or pant are all the trends to look forward this season.

Colours like hot pink, red, purple, royal blue, wine are always in vogue during festivals, but this season even soft pastel colours like peach, pink, chickoo and grey are trending, besides metallic colours like gold and silver.
My festive collection has a lot of handwork detailing, ruffle gowns, tiered lehenga skirts, off shoulder and modern croptops, dhoti, long floor length layered kurtis, floor length tops teamed with lehengas, ruffle stoles, gowns with pleatings, jumpsuits worn with a dupatta. If you want to stand out, then try wearing a fully embroidered or shimmering half dupatta over a pair of tight fitted pants or jeggings draped like a saree with a crop top. Complete the look with a maang tikka.
