What is the objective behind this week-long celebration?

A celebration around cocktails happens all around the world and we felt the time is right to introduce Bangalore and its young, cosmopolitan and well-travelled citizens to this concept. Every bar or lounge has its signature cocktail, but there are times when these signature cocktails don’t really get marketed well. Customers may not really understand them, while those serving the customers may be unable to explain it to them. We aim to enhance the knowledge that people have regarding cocktails, how they can be paired with food, the right palate for each cocktail, the art of pouring the perfect cocktail, the secret art of mixology, etc.

So how do you intend to create this awareness?

We have planned a series of events for the same. We have tied up with multiple bars and lounges in Bangalore that will offer cocktails at discounted rates during the Cocktail Week. The week will provide an opportunity for customer to mingle with celebrity mixologists like Jamie Walker, Andrew Quadari and Hemanth Mundkur and try their exotic concoctions. Then we have masterclasses on specific alcohol types like gin, whiskey. These masterclasses will talk everything about cocktail making, the nuances, the art and the science behind it. Then there are pub crawls that will help people explore Bangalore’s night life with other pub trotters.

What kind of interest do you think it will generate in Bangalore?

We have held such an event in New Delhi and Mumbai. The crowd there is much different as it is much larger and those cities have a huge cocktail culture. Bangalore has somewhat been more skewed towards beer and we hope this event will ignite the cocktail culture here are well. we are having lots of bloggers attend the event and are creating a lot of awareness on social media as well.

Dates: 26th August – 2nd  September 2016.

Venue: 25+ bars and restaurants of Bangalore
