The Tamil Nadu government will launch a new channel on television called Kalvi Tholaikkatchi. This channel for the benefit of school students will be launched on January 21st by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and it will be a 24×7 channel broadcasting programmes ranging from rhymes to Neet coaching. It will be available on the Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV on channel no 200.
More than 50 teachers are involved in the production of the content for the channel. It will be like any other commercial channel but will not have any advertisements. Creative ideas like songs and animations are being experimented with in the production of programmes. It will have bulletins on scholarships, competitions, messages from dignitaries etc
