What makes this festive time special?

This festive time is extremely special as it’s my little baby boy Nirvaan’s first Diwali. So we’re making all preparations to show him the wonderful festival of lights. He’s lit up our lives with his thousand watt smile and our endeavor is to light up the whole house for him with fairy lights, candles, tea lights and huge floor and ceiling lamps that we’ve specially purchased for the season, hopefully this makes him beam more and enjoy the festivities.

How do you celebrate Diwali?

Diwali is my favourite festival and I usually start my celebrations a month in advance by playing cards, shopping for loved ones and meeting all my friends to bring in the festivities together. On Diwali Day we usually do ardas and a small puja for Goddess Laxmi to show our gratitude for the blessings we are showered with all year round.

How do you like dressing up?

I prefer wearing traditional and fun colours like pop pink, pista green, yellow, different hues of blue, white and lavender.

Who is your favourite designer?

That’s a tough one. There is so much talent in the market today. However, my personal favourites are JJ Valaya, Anamika Khanna and Anita Dongre.

How would you judge the fashion scene in the city?

I just moved from New Delhi so if I were to compare the two cities I feel Hyderabad has its own style but is catching up fast with what the Capital has to offer in terms of latest trends.

What’s your fashion plan for the Diwali parties?

Traditional all the way. I love my sarees, salwar kameez and anarkalis.

Your favourite Indian clothing?

Undoubtedly Sarees. I feel a woman looks her best and sexiest in sarees. And especially Indian women, they carry themselves off with such grace in a saree.

What kind of jewellery do you like?

I love diamonds. All that sparkle makes any woman feel special and it’s definitely my favourite for traditional wear. Infact polki sets and chaandbaalis are a must have for the festive season.
