What makes this festive time special?

I like everything about Diwali – right from the decorations, lights, family reunion, togetherness, positivity, and delicacies. The surroundings look so bright and beautiful! The entire vibe of this festival is positive.

How do you celebrate Diwali?

I clean my house and decorate it with colourful lights, diyas and flowers. We perform a small Laxmi Puja in the evening followed by some fireworks, after which we catch up with my friends for cards and dinner.

How do you like dressing up?

I love basics – simple, sober and comfortable wear.

Who is your favourite designer?

For Indian wear it is Anita Dongre and Sabyasachi. While for this shoot I’m wearing a creation by a close friend’s brand named Design Cottage.

How would you judge the fashion scene in the city?

We really need a fashion police for sure! But on a serious note – the city is experimenting with different fashion trends now and has levelled up to an extent.

What’s your fashion plan for the Diwali Parties?

Bright kurtas paired with pallazos and a nice colourful dupatta – would be my ideal look.

Your favourite Indian clothing?

A kali suit. I believe that you should be comfortable in whatever you wear, as your look defines who you are. If you try too hard, out of your comfort zone, the whole purpose is lost and it ends up showing.

What kind of jewellery do you like?

There is something very traditional about chunky silver jewellery and of course, meenakari.
