If you want to taste authentic tropical delights from the Pearl of the Indian Ocean, then head to the Momo Cafe at Courtyard by Marriott this month. The Sri Lankan Food Festival that is on till September 14 is curated by Priya Bala and Executive Chef Sudhir Nair. Begin your meal with fish cutlets that are delicious and will leave you asking for more. Vegetarians can try Seeni Sambol Patties. Also try the Banana Blossom salad, Fried ladies finger, Roast tomato and coconut milk and Coconut sambol. Coconut has been used generously in each of the dishes, keeping the authenticity of the Sri Lankan cuisine intact. Sri Lankan cuisine has emerged from many cultural, historical and trade factors over the years. For mains, try the Fish Curry prepared with Mackeral fish and Chicken Kuruma. Both the dishes are flavourful and something that anyone who’s tasted Sri Lankan cuisine before will love. Vegetarian options include Fried banana curry, Pumpkin curry and Masur Dal. Mop it all up with Rice or Idiappam and save a trip to Sri Lanka. End your Sri Lankan culinary journey with melt-in-the-mouth Watalappam and Coffee Jelly. The menu will rotate with new dishes being added on most days. For Sunday Brunch, you get to feast on an exclusive section with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian Lamprais and vegetarian and non-vegetarian Seafood soup called Jaffna Koozh – a meal in one. Wash it all down with Sri Lankan mocktails or a Coconut Water Caprioska.
