“Stay focused just like your logo of Arjuna with a bow conveys”, that was a clarion call by Defence Minister to a packed auditorium at the Diamond Jubilee valedictory celebration of the PSBB group of schools in Chennai. Lauding the institution and its founder Dr. Mrs. Y.G Parthasarathy, Ms. Sitharaman exhorted students to maintain “equanimity” and be “think catalysts”. The minister made a strong pitch for responsible communication in the social media to “remove toxicity” in our national discourse.

Tracing the school’s journey from a “terrace to a tower”, the Founder, Dean and Director, Dr. Mrs. Y.G Parthasarathy attributed her success to her husband’s trust who “identified the educator” in her. Calling the chief guest a “superwoman”, and “the maternal protector of our mother land”, being the country’s second woman Defence Minister. Mrs. Parthasarathy expressed that she hoped that her students would join the armed forces.

Welcoming the gathering, Deputy Dean and Director, Mrs. Sheela Rajendra, underscored “a greater responsibility to live up to the glorious past of the institution.”

There was a roaring applause when the Defence Minister invited on stage a class eleven student Navilan, who had sketched a portrait of her.

Mrs. Vasanthi, principal of PSBB Nungambakkam proposed the vote of thanks
