Decision to reopen schools and colleges to be taken on April 14.

In the wake of the lockdown, the government would take a decision about the reopening of educational institutions on April 14 th after reviewing the coronavirus situation in the country. All schools and colleges were closed in the second and third week of March to prevent spreading of the virus.

All exams were also postponed. Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said that while the safety of students and teachers was of utmost importance, there should not be any academic loss to students if the lockdown continues beyond April 14 th. As of now, some schools and colleges have been asked to conduct online classes to complete the syllabus. There are about 34 crore students in India. Plans are on to conduct pending exams after the lockdown is lifted. The Central Board for Secondary Education said that it would give a notice of about 10 days to the students before starting the exams.
