Leaders of 10 ASEAN nations  have gathered for the 25th year commemorative summit. Security issues in the Indo-Pacific will be the focus of discussion. The leaders started arriving on Wednesday beginning with Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Phuc followed by the Prime Ministers of Cambodia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Laos. President of Philippines, Myanmar State Councillor, the Sultan of Brunei and the President of Indonesia will also be participating in the summit.

They will be hosted for lunch at the Rashtrapati Bhavan followed by the traditional retreat where they will meet informally for 2 hours. They will then officiate as joint chief guests for the Republic Day parade. The meet will focus on the 3 ‘C’s of connectivity, commerce and culture. The issues of maritime security, cyber security and cooperation on fighting terrorism will also be discussed.
