CJI asks TN people to remain calm

The Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra requested the people of Tamil Nadu to remain calm and reassured them that the interests of the state regarding Cauvery waters issue would be addressed. In reference to the ongoing protests across the state to demand the setting up of Cauvery Management Board,he assured that justice would be done.

The centre had filed an application seeking extension of three months for implementing the order. They felt that the Cauvery issue was a very emotive issue in Karnataka which led to severe law and order problems leading to avoidable loss of lives and property. The Supreme Court has posted the Cauvery issue hearing on April 9th.
