Chris Gayle invests in IONA Entertainment, aims to revolutionize gaming in India

Swashbuckling West Indian opening batsman Chris Gayle will be seen in a whole new avatar, having entered into a partnership with IONA Entertainment to bring one stop entertainment to Indian sports fans which will include state of the art virtual gaming. Gayle, who is already brand ambassador for IONA, is all set to invest in the company which he feels can revolutionise the entire entertainment industry in the country. Together, they aim to set up IONA gaming zones in not just malls but also airports and railway stations. “It is going to change the way people experience entertainment in India,” Gayle said, during a star-studded press conference here on Thursday.

IONA, founded and pioneered by Mr. Subramanian, Dr. Preetha, is a world-class immersive and interactive entertainment centre that offers an unmatched range of games under one single room. Their facilities in Virginia Mall, Bengaluru are spread over 100,000 square feet and provides virtual reality, simulation gaming, robotic cinemas, sports pitches, UV lit bowling, 3D Click Art Museum, Futsal, multi-sports pitch and many more. “I already share a wonderful association with /ONA. I decided to take it forward and become an integral part of the company, and have decided to invest in it,11 Gayle said, explaining why he took this bold step. “/ am sure we will make this the very best in virtual reality, 11 he added.
One of the most destructive players to have ever wielded a cricket bat, Gayle is a much loved player in India due to his affable personality and larger than life. He believes in attaining goals and is sure to go out of his way to become a trend-setter in his new venture as well. Speaking about IONA, he said: “It is truly a one-stop destination for virtual gaming experience. My personal favourites are the virtual reality simulators, Robotic multi-dimensional cinema and the funky UV lit bowling. I feel very much feel at home at IONA due to the highly realistic cricket simulation pitch,” he said.
