China built a hospital to treat coronavirus cases in a record time of just 9 days. The hospital has 1000 beds. The number of confirmed cases of the virus has climbed upto 17,238. Health experts say that this number is increasing rapidly and would reach it’s peak in the next 10 to 14 days.
The death toll has gone upto 361. Another hospital will be built adjacent to this hospital in a few days. It will have 1300 beds. These two hospitals will exclusively treat coronavirus patients. This will ease the shortage of beds in the city arising from the increasing number of patients infected with the virus. Medical personnel from the People’s Liberation Army will take over the new hospital. Chinese leaders have admitted to their shortcomings in response to the coronavirus outbreak.
