Child trafficking racket busted

Following an input from the Foreigners Regional Registration Office, the Chennai city police have busted a child trafficking racket run out of Chennai and Delhi airports. A woman passenger who has indulged in the crime seven times has been arrested.

The matter came to light when Assistant Foreigners Regional Officer received an input that Haru Manju Datta was bound for U.K.accompanied by a boy under 18 years, impersonating her own son.Police sources said that Manju Datta was arrested in the U.K.There is prima facie evidence that Manju Datta was involved in child trafficking with the connivance of agents and immigration officers in Chennai and Delhi airports. Seven persons have been arrested including two immigration officers. Two agents have also been nabbed.
