Cherry Pik Ventures by Pooja Singhi and Shruthi Sanghvi in association with Rage presents Class of ’84 is a play written and directed by Rahul daCunha. Rahul da Cunha began his theatre career in 1984, directing Tom Topor’s courtroom drama Nuts. In 1991, his production of Gurcharan Das’s Larins Sahib was the first Indian play to be staged at the Edinburgh Theatre Festival. In 1996, he Indianised and adapted and directed Herb Gardner’s I’m Not Rappaport calling it I’m Not Bajirao which ran for nine years. Anuvab Pal’s Chaos Theory, The Bureaucrat and three pieces from the monologue evening One On One are his latest directorial ventures. He is currently writing his first musical, Sing India Sing.

The play features well-known actors – Annahita Uberoi, Devika Shahani, Rajit Kapur, Rituraj Singh, Shehnaz Patel, Sohrab Ardeshir, Vikrant Chaturvedi, Zafar Karachiwala.

Seven friends who were a tightly-knit group in St. Xavier’s College from 1979-1984 have gathered at the Kashid beach house of Raveena and Sanjay Mehra, because of the death of an eighth friend, Jojo. Will the seven friends come to terms with the death of their friend-and more importantly, themselves-in the course of this long and emotional evening together?

Class Of ’84 is a roller-coaster ride about friendship, filled with pathos and humour.
