Celebration of Israel’s 70th Independence Day

The Consulate General of Israel to South India celebrated Israel’s “70th Independence Day” at Shangri-La Hotel in Bengaluru. This year marks Israel’s 70 years of “heritage of innovation”. Intel-India and the Israel Consulate General to South India announced and signed an MOU launching its collaboration to drive innovation by connecting the India and Israel technology ecosystem. Bengalurean differently-abled children dancing Bharatanatyam to Israeli music- performance by special children from “Miracles on wheels”, they danced to the sound of an Israeli song called “TOY” which won the Eurovision Song Contest – just fortnight ago. Master Yathaarth Murthy, a 12-year-old from Bengaluru sang the Israel and Indian National Anthem- a perfect message of “Hope”- the title of the Israeli anthem. The dignitaries raised a toast of a (Mango-Lassi) – fruits of Indo-Israel agricultural the partnership- brought especially to the event from the Indo-Israel Agriculture project for mangoes in Kolar, Karnataka. The collaboration also entails academia involvement through the Israel Center at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), which will provide its students access to engage with both the Indian and Israeli technology ecosystem. IIMB will also help conduct seminars and workshops for entrepreneurs from both countries. Shri HD Kumaraswamy New-elect Chief Minister of Karnataka had visited Israel in August 2017 to study Novel Agri Models also had admired the Israeli technology. The consulate looks forward to collaborate on various such dimensions to strengthening the Karnataka-Israel relations. The Mashav booth which showcased the fruits of the Indo-Israel projects in South India, offering sophisticated Israeli technology to farmers and augmenting vegetable, fruits, cut flowers production in the State.
The distinguished guests spotted included Nivruti Rai, Country Head, Intel India, & Vice President, Data Center Group, Intel Corporation, Bhaskar Bakthavatsalu, Managing Director – Checkpoint, Debarati Sen, Managing Director- 3 M India Region, Soumitra Bhattachrya, Managing Director & President – Bosch Group India, Jitu Virwani – Chairman & Managing Director Embassy Group and the Consuls Generals from Germany, Canada, Swiss and UK. “This year marks Israel’s 70 years of “heritage of innovation”, and India has been a key partner on this exciting journey. The Consulate of Israel to South India’s mission is to strengthen the Indo-Israeli bilateral and economic ties. Choosing to sign this MOU with Intel India as a highlight around Israel’s 70th Independence Day will bring us closer to achieving our mission.  We are honored to be part of this collaboration that so intrinsically combines the values and strengths of India, Israel and Intel to advance innovation through these two vibrant technological ecosystems.
