In a bid to revitalize the river, the Sadhguru’s Cauvery Calling project aims to support farmers to plant 242 crore trees through agroforestry, covering one-third of Cauvery basin with tree cover. Rural population welcomed this because they know it’s an economical solution for their life.

According to India Today, Sadhguru’s motorcade reached Chennai recently. Sadhguru met with farmers in Dharmapuri, Mettur, Erode, Trichy, Thanjavur, and Puducherry and Tamil Nadu government has responded positively on their request to support farmers.

Founder of Isha Foundation motorcade reached the city with a message. Sadhguru made his way through the city’s evening traffic creating awareness on his ambitious project – Cauvery Calling.
In a bid to revitalize the river, the project aims to support farmers to plant 242 crore trees through agroforestry, covering one-third of Cauvery basin with tree cover.

Reportedly, The rally entered Tamil Nadu on September 11 and met with farmers all over and culminated in Coimbatore on September 17. The 15-day journey was great enthusiasm and the farming community welcomed the initiative tremendously. Sadhguru pointed out that the groundwater level in the Cauvery river catchment area has depleted drastically and the need of the hour is to address the soil and rejuvenate it by keeping it organically rich and alive to harvest rainwater.
