An elderly couple in Kalyanipuram in Tirunelveli put up a brave fight against two armed, masked robbers who tried to strangle the man and flee with the old woman’s thali chain. Special teams have been formed to nab the masked duo and footage from the CCTV camera fitted outside their house is being scrutinized for getting clues about the robbers.
In fact some video images from the CCTV camera have gone viral. Many messages congratulating the elderly couple are pouring in on social media. When attacked, both husband and wife threw plastic chairs, stools, chappals at the Intruders. Unable to withstand the onslaught by the couple, the masked duo fled but were richer by 4 sovereigns of gold as they managed to snatch the woman’s thali chain. The elderly couple have almost become a celebrity couple due to their bravery. The police are on the job to catch the culprits and take them to task.
