Student life: Namith Varma- Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal and Gayathri Shetty- B.M.S School of Architecture, Bengaluru.
Design highpoints: Veda Pathasala and Jaquar Corporate Headquaters are among a few that got national recognition and also stand as a milestone for Architects Gayathri Shetty & Namith Varma of GNA, an avant garde architecture firm from Bengaluru with a team comprising senior designers with 60 architects, engineers and multidisciplinary professionals.

Awards: J.K. Architect of the year commendation award for recycling of Architectural Heritage, 1995; Inside-Outside designer of the year award for eco-friendly, 1997; Shortlisted for Aga Khan Awards for excellence in architecture India, 2000; Shortlisted for Arc Asia award entries India, 2001; Shortlisted for WAF (World Architecture Festival 2012-Hotel Category.
Signature style: A fusion of traditional and contemporary styles. We tend to blur the lines between the built and un-built spaces.
Current trends: We find that washroom designs in residences, corporate office collaborative spaces and open office plans are a trend that will stay for a while. We experiment with technology and skilled engineering in built spaces without compromising on giving a traditional touch to the space through courtyards, passive lighting techniques, etc.
