With 2015 proving to be a good year for movie buffs and book lovers with a large number of book adaptations, here is our list of books to read before they are the rage in 2016.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children – Ransom Riggs

A horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As he explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar and they maybe still alive.

The Tim Burton Movie is set to be a Chirstmas release starring Samuel L. Jackson, Eva Green, Asa Butterfield from Hugo.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – J.K. Rowling

The Harry Potter prequel will be the first of a trilogy. The novel entails the adventures of writer Newt Scamander in New York’s secret community of witches and wizards seventy years before Harry Potter reads his book in school.

Eddie Redmayne, Ezra Miller and Colin Farrell star in the movie.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies – Seth Grahame-Smith and Jane Austen

“It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains,” so begins Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

An extended version of the classic tale of tangled relationships, the 19th century lovers are faced with a new challenge — an army of undead zombies.

Set to open in February ’16, the movie stars Lily James, Lena Headey and  Douglas Booth.

Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There – Lewis Carroll

Alice finds herself Wonderland once again. This time she must travel through a mysterious new world to retrieve a magical scepter that can stop the evil Lord of Time and save Wonderland and the Mad Hatter.

The sequel Alice Through the Looking-Glass once again stars Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway and  Mia Wasikowska.

The Girl On The Train – Paula Hawkins

Compared with Gillian Flynn’s “Gone Girl,” this novel follows Rachel Watson, an alcoholic who makes up stories about a couple she sees everyday while riding the train. But when Rachel notices something that could be potentially life-threatening, she vows to uncover the truth about the “happy couple” on her daily commute.

The film will premiere October 2016 and feature Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson and Haley Bennett
