Rodeo Drive Walk of Style
The Rodeo Drive Walk of Style, introduced in 2003 by the City of Beverly Hills and the Rodeo Drive Committee, honours style legends for their contributions to the worlds of fashion and entertainment.
Selected by an independent group of representatives from the media, entertainment and fashion industries, the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style honours industry leaders with a lasting tribute that commemorates their life-long achievements.
Honourees are presented with permanent plaques featuring their personal quotes and signatures, which are then embedded into the sidewalks along Rodeo Drive. Recipients of the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Award have celebrated this distinguished honor with star-studded awards ceremonies at landmark Beverly Hills locations including Rodeo Drive, the Beverly Hills Post Office and Beverly Hills City Hall. The symbol for the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style, a sculpture entitled “Torso,” created by world-renowned artist Robert Graham, has become a focal point of the famed street. Standing 14-feet tall at the intersection of Rodeo Drive and Dayton Way, “Torso” is made from solid aluminum blocks and mounted on a bronze pedestal. As part of the induction, each recipient receives a maquette of “Torso”, also designed by Mr. Graham, as the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Award.
A chic and dreamy dinner at Il Cielo
Il Cielo (“the sky” in Italian) is referred to and rated as one of the most romantic restaurants in Los Angeles, thanks in part to the transparent rooftop over the outdoor courtyard, offering guests a view of the stars while they enjoy authentic Italian cuisine – a very stylish ambience indeed! Needless to say, it is one of the most luxurious restaurants in town.
Sip a signature cocktail at Trader Vic’s Lounge in The Beverly Hilton
Poolside cocktails are par for the course during a visit to Beverly Hills, but only one boasts being home to an original: Trader Vic’s at The Beverly Hilton. The Polynesian-themed lounge serves island-inspired appetizers and over 75 exotic cocktails, but it’s practically a must to order a Mai Tai as the cocktail was invented by Victor “Trader Vic” Bergeron himself in 1944! The old and famous cocktail is made of rum, fresh lime, Orange Curacao, a dash of Rock Candy syrup, and a some French Orgeat! Everything you loved about the old Trader Vic’s – the staff, the cocktails, the tiki décor – it’s all still there. And yes, they still offer a variation on the pupu platter, thoughtfully updated Polynesian paradise poolside at The Beverly Hilton. This iconic hotel has been part of many movies, and one of the biggest entertainment award shows, The Golden Globes, has been filmed in the hotel’s International Ballroom since 1961. It can’t get more glamorous than that!
Beverly Hills is definitely a place where the glitterati sparkles at its best, and so will you!
