JagaChitra is an annual photography exhibition, conducted by TGiS, at Chitrakala Parishath, Bengaluru. A city-based photography group, Thank God it’s Saturday (TGiS), is unveiling a new collection of photographs shot by its members. The group is hosting its 5th exhibition this year at Chitrakala Parishath (CKP). The exhibition will be for a span of six days and all proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI). TGiS consists mostly of members who have attended photography workshops headed by internationally celebrated photographer, Anand Sharan. The group conducts yearly exhibitions and this year, the theme is “JagaChitra” which literally means ‘universe taken as a picture’ and also ‘wonder of the universe’. With 500 submissions made this year, 110 have been shortlisted for exhibiting at CKP. In keeping with the theme, photographs were taken by TGiS members from around the world, showcasing scenic locales, culture, wildlife, nature, and people. Apart from India, visitors to the exhibition will see images from Bruges, the Swiss Alps, Arizona, Krabi Islands, London, Cambodia, Angkor and more.
