Apollo Hospitals chairman Dr Prathap C Reddy on Friday released ‘Apollo Hospitals textbook of medicine’. The book is edited by Dr T V Devarajan, senior consultant, department of general medicine, Apollo Hospitals; and the chapters in the book are co-authored by various doctors.
Dr Devarajan, has over 40 years of experience in teaching and has 28 publications to his credit, including ‘Clinical medicine made easy’ and ‘Medicine in a nutshell’ among others, reports New Indian Express.
According to Dr Devarajan, the textbook has been written in two volumes and will be useful for learning for both undergraduate and postgraduate medical and dental students.
The book covers a myriad of branches, from ancient medicine, yoga to stem cell research, evidence-based medicine to medical ethics, legal obligations of doctors and subjects of smoking and alcohol consumption. There is also a chapter on the future of medicine.
