Crowne Plaza Kochi Invited the FIFA World Cup teams to their cake mixing ceremony!
The traditional Cake Mixing Ceremony as a part of the Christmas tradition was conducted at Crowne Plaza, Kochi on 9th October 2017. The event was attended by FIFA officials, Brazil, Niger and Spain teams participating in the FIFA U-17 World Cup, in-house guests and invited dignitaries. 1500 kilograms of dry fruits mix consisting of Black and white raisins, figs, prunes, Orange peel, Dates and ginger peel was precooked in homemade red wine, sugar and honey was spread out and mixed with spices and liquor during the ceremony, the same is sufficient to bake 7500 kilograms of Rich Plum Cake.
The mix would be aged for one and a half months and then used for baking cakes for Christmas. Chef Kalesh, Executive Sous Chef curated the event. Chef Edwardo Rezende, the Team Chef of U-17 Brazil football team and Chef Javier, the Team Chef of Spanish U-17 football team were also actively involved in the cake mixing.
