Amitabh to be conferred with Dadasaheb Phalke award

The Dadasaheb Phalke award which is the country’s highest film honour will be conferred on Amitabh Bachchan for his outstanding contribution to cinema. This has made the entire country as well as the international community happy. Incidentally, the award will coincide with Amitabh’s golden jubilee in cinema.
He made his debut with the film “Khwaja Ahmad Abbas Data Hindustani” in the year 1969. The same year, he did the voiceover for Mrinal Sen’s “Bhuvan Shome” one of the earliest films of Indian parallel cinema. Amitabh has been a towering personality in the film world and has won four national awards and 15 Filmfare trophies so far. The Dadasaheb Phalke award comprises of a golden lotus called Swarna Kamal, a shawl and a cash prize of Rs 1,000,000/.
