Gahela Boro 22 from Assam one of India’s top archers has been diagnosed with two combined auto immune diseases that is threatening to take away her arrow shooting fingers. She has been under treatment and the average cost of her treatment is about To 16,000/ a month much beyond the means of her father who is a marginal farmer.

He even mortgaged his paddy fields for RS 1 lakh and by the time the States archery body and local clubs stepped in to offer financial support, gangrene had set in and she lost a few toes.A series of government assisted treatment in Guwahati and at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi have kept the diseases under control. She hopes to get back to shooting and for that she requires a compound bow that costs Rs 3 lakhs.
