An abandoned newborn baby girl near a bush at Karapakkam was rescued by the police. The baby who appeared to be a few days old was admitted to the Egmore Children’s hospital. It was a security guard who heard the child crying and while searching, he found the baby near a clump of bushes. He immediately alerted the police control room.
A police team arrived and took the baby to a hospital in Porur where she was given first aid. The Valsarvakkam police who collected CCTV camera footage, found a woman abandoning the baby near the bush. She was accompanied by another person. The police are trying to identify the woman with the help of the footage.
