A successful ‎Pavan Malhotra Retrospective concluded in the capital

There was reminiscence and excitement from January 11th until 21st, 2016 in the capital, centering around Pavan Malhotra’s Retrospective that took place at the India International Centre.

The “Unmasking Pavan” a  retrospective of Pavan Malhotra’s 25 years in films was presented by IIC, Film Club, New Delhi and conceptualised by Meera Dewan. In some of the films shown during UNMASKING PAVAN, the  characters were diagonally different. Says Pavan Malhotra, “I feel humbled by the responses of my audience and fans who have supported such cinema braved the winter and came to see these films, meet me and the directors. The Retro started with Buddhadeb Dasgupta and his film “Bagh Bahadur”, Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra’s opening “Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro”. Pavan Malhotra introduced Udyan Prasad’s, “Brothers in Trouble”, Mrityunjay Devvrat’s introduction of his film “Children of War”, Anurag Singh’s opening of his film “Punjab 1984”, Harjit Singh’s presentation of the film, “Eh Janam Tumhare Lekhe”. Tajinder Kaur the scriptwriter of the film talked about her experience and Bijee Dr. Inderjeet Kaur the backbone of Pingalwara introduced us to the soul of Pingalwara – Bhagat Puran Singhji, his ideals and commitment to life and life source. I am grateful to Amit Rai for moderating the seminar along with Khalid Mohamad and Mrityunjay Devvrat. Faisal Alkazi gave his views about the young recruit, the 16 year old Pavan Malhotra in Ruchika Theater.
