A low pressure over the Bay of Bengal is likely to bring rainfall over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for the next two days. This low pressure is likely to intensify into a depression and cause scattered rainfall. Apart from having a wet Deepavali, the sale of crackers has turned out to be a damp squib. While textile showrooms are teeming with shoppers, firecracker shops are wearing a deserted look, leaving them worried.

A staff of the firecrackers showroom said that sale has been very dull and did not even reach half of last years sale. They are worried that they would be left with a huge unsold stock. However shoppers have a different story to say. They said that sale was dull due to steep increase in prices and also due to measures taken to control pollution.

The Ritz team wishes all its readers a sparkling Deepavali.
